First Sale

YAYYYYYYY - finally got my first sale. It only took 4 months! A lovely Canadian lady, 3rdlife, put me in her treasury and then bought my drawing. As you can imagine I was very, very chuffed.

Due to the recent sucesses lately with my drawings, I think I will concentrate a bit more on them and a bit less on craft at the moment. That is, if uni work will give me any time to do some. I have also been making button rings for myself - a bit of fun, but not to sell. After a look on Etsy there are way too many - plus I like them for myself.

Treasury

I have finally made my first treasury, thanks to twiggyandbloom who picked my picture of a jetty. I am so stoked, it is also nice to know someone else likes my work, that I am not creating in isolation. The link is http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=42389 if you would like to check it out.

Break

Happy New Year from a boiling hot Adelaide. Of course our air-conditioning is no being installed until next Thursday.

While Elliott and Oliver have been on school holidays I have had a little break from art (although I managed to squeese in a few ACEOs). I am now back into it and have recently discovered felt and have made some scissor and thimble cases. Quite happy with they way they turned out.

As well as my art/craft, working, being mum to Elliott and Oliver, I have decided to go back to Uni and do a post grad - I think I'm going to be busy. You know what they say, if you want something done, ask a busy person.

Break

I am taking a break from both blogging and crafting. I am not happy with anything I draw/make at the moment, so will take a break over Christmas/New Year. I will be back early next year. Hope you and yours have a fantastic Christmas.

ACEOs

Finally got to do some art work yesterday. I have been working on the dog and rose aceo for some time. I got the dog picture off the internet and the rose is from my garden. I started the swan yesterday, I took the picture of it while at the largest rocking horse. I drew them with a view to sell on Etsy, but am still not happy with them. Might put them aside for awhile and come back to them.

The rose was drawn with pencil and ink (photos taken late last night, not the best quality - sorry)

Both the swan and dog were drawn with pen and ink.

Today we are off to buy some stools to go under our new kitchen bench.

I'm back

We are now finally home and stage 1 of renovations has been finished. Below is a before and after picture of my kitchen/lounge/dining/family room. Take note of my range hood - how sexy is that curved glass??! It is almost a piece of sculpture in itself.

Before - dark and poky

After - bright, light and modern. No more 1970's kitchen.
While we were staying at the caravan, mum and I took the boys to the horse trials held in the city. Thankfully we were able to get in free (otherwise it would have been $60 to get in!!!) and had a lovely time. We sat near the water jump, handy to the playground, and watched the amazing horseflesh in action. As you can see, Elliott was more interested in making sand castles than the horse.
We also took the boys to the largest rocking horse in the world. We all managed climbed to the top - even though the last two levels were by ladder.

Needless-to-say, with all this topsy turvy going on I haven't been able to do any art/craft. Feeling seriously deprived.

On Hold

It has been awhile. This has been due to sick kids, then away for a long weekend and now restricted access to internet because of house renovations. Hopefully the house will be finished by the end of next week and then I can get back into blogging and crafting.
